Hickory – The Hickory Music Factory announces summer camps for children and teens. The following camps are available this summer.
Kids Classical Camp
June 14th-18th
M-F 9:30-2:30pm
Kids Classical Camp: (ages 5 – 11, beginner and intermediate level) Violin, viola, cello, piano, woodwinds.
Students will learn how to play together and acquire the necessary skills that are required in a classical performance. There will be classes focusing on rehearsal time, guide to orchestra and chamber music (instruments, roles, layout, conductor’ s hands motions). Along with music styles, main music time periods, forms, Italian markings, music theory and solfeggio. Cost is $225 HMF Students and $250 non HMF Students. The week will end with a performance.
Rock Camp
July 12th-16th
M-F 9-2:30pm
Rock Camp: (ages 11-17, some skills are required)
Students will rehearse throughout the week with their band and learn the essentials needed to perform on stage. There will be classes/clinics focusing on song writing, stage performance, music history, tone, and dynamics, as well as, music theory. The week will end with the students playing a concert on Friday night. Cost is $225 HMF Students and $250 non HMF Students.
Think Tank
July 19th-23rd
M-F 9:30-2:30pm
The Think-Tank Songwriting Workshop with Liam Bailey
• Students will each write an original composition with Liam
• Students will develop their song with a student ensemble
• Students will hold virtual performance of their new original songs
• A socially distant environment will be maintained to HMF standards
• Class Size Limited to 10 Students, Ages 12-18
Cost for the camp is $225 for HMF Students and $250 for non HMF Students.
