Hickory – The Charles D. Dixon Memorial Splash Pad, located at Kiwanis Park, will be closed Thursday, July 26, through Sunday, July 29, at 3:pm due to the Tar Heel Leagues, Inc. State Baseball Tournaments.
The City of Hickory will host 44 teams for the Tar Heel Leagues, Inc. State Baseball Tournaments, with games being held at Kiwanis Park, Stanford Park, Jaycee Park, and the Lenoir-Rhyne University softball field. Due to limited parking at Kiwanis Park, splash pad visitors cannot be accommodated during the tournaments.
“We are very excited to host the Tar Heel Leagues, Inc. State Baseball Tournaments in Hickory this year,” said Parks and Recreation Director Mack McLeod. “We appreciate everyone’s understanding during the splash pad’s temporary closure.”
In lieu of the splash pad, residents and visitors are encouraged to enjoy the interactive water feature available at Lowes Food City Park in downtown Hickory.
