Hickory – The seventh anniversary of TEDx Hickory is coming to The Belk Centrum at Lenoir-Rhyne University on November 3rd. This independently organized event, licensed by TED, will feature a combination of live speakers and TED Talk videos that is sure to elevate the thinking and broaden the perspective of all who participate. This year’s theme is The Power of Know.
We have all the knowledge in the world right at our fingertips. Don’t believe me? Pull out your phone. Nowadays, we can look up information on just about anything. So what does being knowledgeable mean?
From birth we seek to learn, to understand, to know. All of us know some things but none of us know all things. Isn’t it time to go back to basics? To explore, to discover, and to be amazed by new things? To learn from true experts? At TEDx Hickory 2018, you’ll find out through “The Power of Know.”
The event will be held from 10am to 4pm. Doors open at 9am, with presenters speaking for no more than 18 minutes each. There will be breaks in-between sessions for discussions on the topics presented. Those wishing to attend TEDx Hickory will need to purchase a ticket from the event’s web site (TEDxHickory.com). Tickets are $45.00. A ticket covers attendance for the full day, lunch, and a TEDx Hickory gift. Space is limited, so those interested are encouraged to purchase their ticket soon.
