Newton – The Catawba County Library’s mobile branch “the Library to Go” has been sharing services and resources out in our community for several months now. To update residents on its work, the library is offering a series of open houses for people to learn more.
At each one, attendees are invited to a behind the scenes peek inside the vehicle and to get a feel for the experience provided when it visits a community facility, non-profit agency, neighborhood, or school without its own media center.
The Library to Go mobile library brings empowering services and resources beyond library walls and into the communities that need them the most. It expands the library’s capacity to connect with people and provide them access to the books, technology, and trained librarian assistance. The Librarian to Go works to build relationships, target areas of need, and partner in the community to bring services, materials, programs, technology resources, and internet access to where people are – especially to non-traditional locations – bringing the power of the library to the people, where they are.
The Library to Go open houses will take place at the following times and locations:
Friday, March 8
· 9:30-11 am – Southwest Branch Library
· 12:30-2 pm – St. Stephens Branch Library
· 3:30-5 pm – Conover Branch Library
