Fear is the Key (1972) Barry Newman is a man out for revenge after his family is killed in a plane crash in this adaptation of an Alistair Maclean novel making its Blu Ray debut. Extras include a new commentary and multiple documentaries.

Paramount:

Footloose (1984) The classic 80s coming of age tale, starring Kevin Bacon as a music loving teen tangling with the citizens of a town where dancing is outlawed, comes to 4K. Archival extras have been retained which include commentaries and documentaries.

Shout/Scream Factory:

Tenacious D In the Pick of Destiny (2006) Jack Black and Kyle Glass, members of the band of the film’s title, are on a quest for a magical guitar pick in this cult comedy making its Blu Ray debut. Extras include multiple commentaries and deleted/extended scenes.

Willy’s Wonderland (2021) Nicholas Cage is a down and out drifter doing battle with evil animatronic figures that have come to life in this horror comedy getting a 4K release. Bonus materials include a set tofu, featurettes and image galleries.

Criterion:

Eric Rohmer’s Tales of the Four Seasons (1990-98) A quartet of films revolving around various characters’ romantic entanglements, and with each story set against a different seasonal backdrop, comes to Blu Ray in a terrific new set that includes new and vintage interviews, a documentary and trailers. The set also comes with an essay booklet.

Kino:

The label is issuing several new Blu Ray titles this week. Fred Astaire aids musical partner, Betty Hutton, in her attempts to get custody of her son in Let’s Dance (1950). Man Eater of Kumaon (1948) stars Wendell Corey as a hunter in search of a blood thirsty tiger. James Cagney is a newspaperman in possession of a deadly secret in Blood on the Sun (1945) and Alaska Seas (1954) stars Robert Ryan as a salmon fisherman doing battle with fishing trappers. All of these releases contain new transfers and commentaries.

Radiance Films:

Goodbye and Amen (1977) Tony Musante is a CIA agent plotting to overthrow an African government in this crime thriller. Bonus materials include interviews and commentary.

CBS/Paramount:

Gomer Pyle USMC: The Complete Series (1964-69) All five seasons of the classic comedy series make their way to Blu Ray this week in a 20-disc set that boasts terrific transfers and feature such bonus materials as the original pilot episode and audio commentaries.
