Lightyear (2022) The latest entry in the Toy Story franchise features Chris Evans taking over the voicing chores for the title character in a story that ties into the original film.

NEW TO STREAMING:

Meltdown: Three Miles Island (2022) is a new four-part documentary on the spring 1979 tragedy of the film’s title. (Netflix)

Pedro Pascal & Nicholas Cage in The Unbearable Weight

Shaft (1971) The black cinema classic gets the 4K UHD treatment this week in a new edition that includes the 1972 sequel Shaft’s Big Score along with new and archival interviews and documentaries.

Rouge (1987) Stanley Kwan’s tale of the 50-year love affair between a have and a have not in mid 20th century Hong Kong. Extras include a new documentary and a new memoir film.

Cohen Media:

Breathe In (2012) Guy Pearce and Felicity Jones star in this tale of a married music teacher’s infatuation with a foreign exchange student. Extras include a making of featurette and director interview.

Scream/Shout Factory:

A Fire in the Sky (1993) The space creature kidnapping saga of manual laborer, Travis Walton, is the subject of this film that has developed a cult reputation and is now getting its first Blu-Ray issue this week. Extras include new interviews.

Arrow:

Edge of Sanity (1990) Anthony Perkins turns in one of his final performances in this retelling of the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Extras include new interviews and commentary.

The Initiation of Sarah (1978) Kay Lenz is a teen who uses her special powers to get even with those who attempt to make her college life a living hell in this well regarded Made for TV horror entry getting the Blu-Ray treatment this week. Extras include new interviews and commentary.

Kino:

The UFO Incident (1975) James Earl Jones and Estelle Parsons star in this made for TV dramatization of the ordeal of real-life couple, Betty and Barney Hill, who claim to have been abducted by aliens. Extras include a commentary and feature length documentary on the film’s composer, Billy Goldenberg.

Warner Brothers:

Giant (1956) The final film of James Dean, a sprawling saga involving the changing of race and traditions over the course of many years, gets the 4K UHD upgrade this week. Previous extras from past editions have been retained.

Lionsgate:

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022) Nicholas Cage plays himself in this comedy in which the actor is forced to save the day in the real world.
