Film Reviews by Adam Long

Now in Theaters:

Fast X-Dom (Vin Diesel) and the “Family” return to do battle with the son (Jason Momoa) of the villain from the fifth installment 12 years ago (you know, the one where the ‘Family” pulled a safe down a crowded street in broad daylight). The villain in question is out to avenge dear old dad’s death and cause some trouble to make up for the loss of fortune brought about by Dom and the “Family.” This $350 million dollar film is an apparent set up for more “Family” shenanigans to come.

New to Streaming:

Love to Love You, Donna Summer (***) The daughter of the late, lamented Disco Queen  co-directs this often moving tribute to her mother as she tries to understand her mother as a performer and as a human being. There are some very revelatory home movies throughout the proceedings and interesting insights from those who knew her best. Even though it doesn’t probe as deeply as one might like it’s still a worthy portrait of an icon of 1970s popular American culture.
