Warner:

Twister (1996) is getting a new 4K UHD upgrade this week that is a marked improvement in quality over the many releases of the film over the years. The box office winner about storm chasers going after the big one includes one new featurette in addition to archival ones included.

Challengers (2024) A love triangle set in the world of tennis and starring Zendaya, Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor makes its Blu Ray debut from the label as well this week.

 

Shout/Scream Factory:

Storytelling (2001) Todd Solondz’s follow up to his critically lauded film, Happiness, which is comprised of two separate stories and featuring the filmmaker’s usual unique view of the world, makes its long-awaited Blu-Ray debut.

The Boy and the Heron (2023) This year’s Oscar winner for Best Animated Feature comes to 4K and Blu-Ray. The tale of a boy grieving from the loss of his mother and drawn to a mysterious tower also includes interviews and storyboards.

 

Whole Grain Pictures:

 Journey from the Fall (2006) A displaced Vietnamese family attempts to make it to the US in the spring of 1975 in director Ham Tran’s dramatization of real-life events. Extras include deleted scenes, commentary and interviews.

 

88 Films:

 The Inspector Wears Skirts 3 (1990) A police inspector trains an undercover squad in the hopes of nabbing thieves on a casino ship in this third installment of the series now available on Blu-Ray. Extras include a new commentary.

 The Inspector Wears Skirts 4 (1992) The squad members are sent after a band of thugs in this installment debuting on Blu Ray. Extras include a commentary.

 

Kino Lorber:

 Turbulence (1997) Lauren Holly is a stewardess forced to deal with a dangerous con who’s taken control of the plane in this thriller also starring Brendan Gleeson and Ray Liotta and now making its 4K debut. Extras include a new commentary.

 The Country Girl (1954) Bing Crosby is an alcoholic former music star trying to make a comeback, Grace Kelly is his emotionally challenged wife and William Holden is his director in this Oscar nominated adaptation of the Clifford Odets play now available in Blu-Ray format. Extras include a new commentary.

Come Back Little Sheba (1952) Burt Lancaster and Shirley Booth star in this adaptation of the William Inge play about a warring married couple and what happens when they take in a boarder. Extras on the Blu-Ray release include a new commentary.

The label is also issuing for the first time on Blu-Ray the Tennessee Williams drama, The Rose Tattoo (1955), which stars Burt Lancaster. Extras include a new commentary.

 

Lionsgate:

Civil War (2024) The recent misfire from Alex Garland about two journalists covering a US civil war comes to disc this week from the label with a few extras.

 

Magnolia:

Food Inc. 2 (2024) The sequel to the 2008 film is every bit as good as the previous film as it offers more alarming info and some sensible solutions to our ever-evolving food issues. It’s now on Blu-Ray.

 

Universal:

 Abigail (2024) The recent horror entry about what happens when criminals discover their 12 year old captive is a vampire comes to Blu-Ray this week as well with a few new extras.
