 Beetlejuice Beetlejuice – Most of the cast returns (minus one) in this 36 years in the making sequel. When the daughter of the character played by Winona Ryder in the original film discovers a portal to the afterlife, the family finds themselves contending with Beetlejuice once again.

 The Stepfather (1987) The fondly remembered horror entry, starring Terry O’Quinn as a psychopath seeking to make the perfect family, makes the 4K leap while retaining previous extras.

The home invasion thriller, The Strangers (2008), starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman, also makes its 4K debut this week and contains archival bonus material.

 

Criterion:

All of Us Strangers (2023) A man dealing with a tremendous loss is visited by ghosts from the past in this critically acclaimed drama making its disc debut. Bonus material includes new interviews and making of doc.

 

Warner Brothers:

Super Friends: The Complete Collection (1973-85) All of the animated adventures from the fondly remembered Saturday morning TV series comes to Blu-Ray this week in a new multi disc collection.

Horizon: An American Saga (2024) The first chapter in writer-director-star Kevin Costner’s purported four film western series comes to Blu-Ray and 4K this week as well.

 

Sony:

 Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip (1982) The legendary comic’s first concert film after his 1980 brush with death comes to 4K disc this week and also includes the film’s trailer.

 

VCI:

 Dark Night of the Scarecrow Double Feature (1981-2022) The original beloved TV movie and its belated sequel come to the 4K UHD format this week just in time for the Halloween season. Previous extras have been retained.

 

Warner Archive:

 Black Belt Jones (1974) Jim Kelly is a martial arts instructor whose livelihood is threatened by the mob in this actioner which also stars Scatman Crothers. Extras include the film’s trailer.

 Boulevard Nights (1979) is a portrait of the street gang lifestyle in which two brothers’ territory is threatened by a rival gang. Extras include the film’s trailer.

 

Kino:

 Fatal Vision (1984) The TV movie dramatization of the Jeffrey MacDonald murder case debuts on Blu-Ray and includes a new commentary as well.

The Italian reworking of The Exorcist, Antichrist (1974), comes to the 4K format with a commentary and featurette.

 Zoltan, Hound of Dracula (1974) Dracula and his dog are accidentally resurrected by the Russian army in this cult horror film making its 4K debut. Extras include a new commentary.

 

88 Films:

Two cult films from the Shaw Brothers Studios make their debut from the label. In Golden Lotus (1974) a rich man and a poor woman begin passionate affair while a group of Kung Fu masters use their powers for ill-gotten gains in To Kill a Mastermind (1979).
