Newton, NC – Tickets for Songs for a New World, The Green Room Community Theatre’s summer musical in memory of Michele Acosta McCreary, will go on sale Friday, Aug. 1. Performances are scheduled for Aug. 14–16 at 7:30 p.m. and Aug. 17 at 3 p.m. in the McCreary Theatre.
Songs for a New World is rated PG-13 due to language and adult themes.
All proceeds from the production will benefit the Michele Acosta McCreary Education Fund, which provides need-based scholarships for students to attend Creative Works classes and summer camps. This initiative furthers The Green Room’s mission to “Entertain, Educate, and Engage,” while honoring Michele’s lasting legacy.
Alongside her husband, Bob McCreary, Michele was a longtime supporter of The Green Room. Her dedication exemplified a deep belief in the power of theatre to enrich children’s education and strengthen community bonds. Beyond the stage, she actively supported numerous cultural and educational organizations throughout the region, leaving behind a vibrant legacy of arts education and community enrichment.
Songs for a New World is produced by Bob McCreary in Michele’s memory. Please note that season tickets do not apply to this special event; all tickets must be purchased separately.
