Hickory – Catawba Science Center is thrilled to announce the opening of its recently renovated pre-k exhibit area, Treehouse Adventures! The area formerly known as Explore it! has undergone wall-to-wall renovation and will be officially open to the public on April 27th, following the members only grand opening event. CSC Members are invited to the grand opening event on Thursday, April 26th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. A separate VIP Donors Reception is set for early May.
Designed and fabricated by Design Dimensions, Inc. of Raleigh, NC. Treehouse Adventures is perfect for CSC’s youngest guests with exciting and colorful hands-on activities. The entrance of the exhibit starts off in Autumn, and takes guests through all four seasons of the year, exploring different activities in each section. Kids can climb in a sail boat, explore hide and seek panels, build a snowman, and more in the Autumn and Winter sections. In the Spring and Summer sections, kids can ride a tractor, plant and harvest crops, take them to the market, and even dress the part! The treehouse itself is complete with maps, binoculars and more where kids can use their imagination and creativity to take them on their own treehouse adventure! The exhibition also has features such as sight words, books, and puzzles that parents can use to help teach their children about things like seasons, colors, and wildlife.
CSC would like to thank the Treehouse Adventures task force, and Design Dimensions Inc. for their help in making this exhibition come to life. Treehouse Adventures is sponsored by the Gwendolyn M.
