Hickory – Enjoy an uplifting hour of women power and an appetizing lunch on Tuesday, June 13, from Noon til 1pm at the Women’s Resource Center.
The guest speaker will be Diane Albers, author of “Planet Heartbreak.” The event is free, but seating is limited, so please call the number below to register.
Diane was born in Connecticut and moved to the Washington DC area when she was ten. Life eventually brought her to Hickory in 1996. She has two children. Brett, thirty and Lauren, twenty-eight; and one granddaughter, Bernadette who is one years old.
She recently had her first story published in the book “Planet Heartbreak: Abandoned Wives Tell Their Stories.” She has worked for the US Marshal’s Office, and for a lobbying firm on Capitol Hill before becoming a stay at home mom for 14 years. She re-entered the work force as a Technology Assistant for Hickory Public Schools, and is now the Administrative Coordinator for Radiation Oncology at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
Diane’s interests include crochet, performing on stage, reading, and being a lifelong learner. Diane continuously works on developing her imrov comedy craft by performing with “Now Are The Foxes Improv Comedy and Sketch Group.”
She also loves her second home at Hickory Community theatre where she can be found onstage, backstage, in the sound booth or wherever needed. She lives in Hickory with her two dogs Joshua and Chloe.
