Hickory – Pantry with a Purpose assists women and families struggling to meet their basic needs. This can be for reasons outside of their immediate control, such as job loss or fleeing a home quickly to escape domestic violence. These items cannot be purchased through government assistance benefits, such as SNAP or WIC, but are essential to the safety and wellness of those in our community. (It’s important to note that in 2021 we distributed 3,759 lbs. from this program and as of writing this request, we are at 3,131 lbs. with five more months still left in 2022!)
As part of experiencing homelessness, women and their families frequently must leave behind their essential household items, taking only their clothes. Witnessing this need firsthand with many of our clients, led us to expand Pantry with a Purpose to accommodate these specific circumstances by offering Welcome Home kits that contain additional items essential for establishing a home.

Household Cleaning Supplies
Mop , Mop Buckets, Laundry Detergent, All Purpose Cleaner, Toilet Cleaner, Toilet Bowl Brush, Bathroom Cleaner, Bleach, Glass Cleaner, Dish Soap, Broom and Dust Pan, Wash Cloths, Towels, Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Ziplock Bags.
