North Carolina – BikeWalk NC, the statewide nonprofit that advocates on behalf of people who walk and bike in North Carolina, will hold its 9th Annual NC BikeWalk Transportation Summit on November 5 and 6, in an online venue.

The NC BikeWalk Summit fosters collaboration between North Carolina’s various champions of safer walking and bicycling experiences. This year’s summit will focus on Inclusive Transportation, and will feature voices from transportation users who are often forgotten in Transportation planning. The Summit will educate, inform, and offers an exchange of ideas among planners, engineers, advocates, government staff, and policy leaders to promote bicycling and walking, as well as transit use, as clean, healthy, equitable, sustainable, and valid forms of transportation and as desired or necessary forms of mobility for many. It also works to assist North Carolina in becoming a premier pedestrian and bicycle-friendly state.

Experts from across the state and beyond will be on hand to share their knowledge and experience on topics including how to build equity into transportation, multimodal integration, the importance of bringing the right voices to the table to be sure that the transportation projects are meeting the needs of those with the fewest choices for mobility.
