Valdese, NC – The Waldensian Trail of Faith is inviting everyone to its new Easter sunrise production, Resurrection Light at 6:45am, on Sunday, April 21, at 401 Church St. NW in Valdese. This event is free and open to the public.
There will be an outdoor 15-minute drama, after that everyone will move to the replica of the Temple of Ciabas, for a 10-minute service, and then to the Visitor Center for coffee and refreshments provided by East Valdese Baptist Church. This is the 20th year that The Waldensian Trail of Faith has performed an Easter drama on Easter Sunday. Sorry, but no tours are given on Easter Sunday.
The drama, titled Resurrection Light drama was written by Karen Knight, president of Heartsongs Ministries, and will performed by local Valdese residents. A huge two-ton stone has been constructed by the Trail of Faith founder Jim Jacumin, with help from local residents and some of the North Carolina Zoo staff who constructed the many caves and rock formations at their zoo.
The drama begins at 6:45am Easter Sunday morning but it is suggested that you arrive early to get a parking spot and a good spot to see all of the performance.
