Hickory – In addition to the recent release of their 25th Anniversary barleywine beer, Omega Point, Olde Hickory Brewery has just canned three dessert-themed Berliner Weisse Tart Wheat Beers. Available just in time for your July 4th celebrations!
Check out these different flavors: Blueberry Tart, Key Lime Meringue, and Peaches A La Mode. Each one is very refreshing, with a 4% ABV, and perfect for your outdoor gatherings.
Head brewer, and co-owner, Steven Lyerly said, “These beers are made with real fruit, even the key lime. It has key lime juice, real vanilla, and real graham crackers. I bought graham crackers at the store, and we crushed them to add to the beer so that it has that nice graham cracker finish.” Just like key lime pie.
Talking with Jason Yates, co-owner of OHB, he mentioned that 19 blueberries go into each Blueberry Tart. That sounds like a serving of fruit with each beer! Okay, that’s our story…
These OHB Berliner Weisse Tart Wheat Beers are available in stores in packs of twelve 12 oz cans and include “3 different pies, 4 slices of each.”
Locally, you can try them on draft at all Olde Hickory Restaurants (Olde Hickory Station, Olde Hickory Tap Room, Amos Howards Restaurant & Brew Pub) along with other local bars and restaurants.
We love the way brewer Sarah Todd introduced these beers online, “Have your pie and eat it too. Welcome our dessert-themed Berliner Weisse beers. With three flavors to choose from, you’ll want to grab a slice of each — and lucky for you we have mixed packs available!”
