Hiddenite, NC – The Hiddenite Center is excited to announce its first Wild Herbs and Foraging Workshop of the year! The Center invites the public to join Amy Barr of Heritage Hills Farms for an informative lesson on the uses of herbs growing right in your own backyard. Back by popular demand, the Wild Herbs & Foraging Workshop will be held on Saturday, June 15th from 10am-2pm. Amy will share her knowledge from years of experience on how to forage, how to use herbs for first aid, and more! This hands-on class will be held at The Hiddenite Center’s Educational Complex (70 Hiddenite Church Rd, Hiddenite). As part of the learning experience, participants will make an herbal remedy in class that they may take home. Plans are underway for an off-site foraging experience following the classroom component of this workshop. Attendees are encouraged to bring a bagged-lunch to this class. The cost of this class is $35 for Friends of the Center and $40 for non-members. Pre-registration is required for this class; registration is available online at hiddenitearts.org or by calling the Hiddenite Center at 828-632-6966.
Amy and her husband Greg Barr are owners of Heritage Hills Farm where they milk their own goats, and make soap, lotions, herbal salves, as well as other natural bath and body products. For more information, visit heritagehillsfarmsoaps.com or their Facebook page Heritage Hills Farm.
