Hickory – On Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM, Hartzell Memorial United Methodist Church will observe Youth Day.  The messenger will be Walter Kennedy.  He is a graduate of Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music.

With over five years of experience in higher education, he is the current  Coordinator of Student Engagement at Lenoir Rhyne University, and is a dedicated student affairs professional, community advocate, and servant leader with a passion for empowering young adults.

Beyond his work in higher education, Walter is actively involved in the Hickory community.

A firm believer in spreading the good news of Jesus Christ, Walter is committed to serving others—whether in corporate spaces, educational institutions, or the church.  His work is driven by a deep sense of purpose, faith, and a desire to make a lasting impact in every community he touches.

He was Born in Lakewood, NJ, and is the second oldest of six children of the late Rev. Dr. John W. Kennedy and Rev. Keitha Wiggins Kennedy
