Hickory – The national Brewers Association has announced the winners of the 2025 World Beer Cup, the world’s most prestigious professional beer and cider competition. Olde Hickory Brewery won the Silver medal for Forest Hills, in the Strong Ale category. Our local brewery officially produces the second strongest beer in the world!
The awards ceremony was held on May 1st, 2025, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, in conjunction with the Craft Brewers Conference® & BrewExpo America.® All World Beer Cup entries must be commercially available, fermented malt beverages conforming to the trade understanding of “beer” or “cider” brewed by a permitted commercial brewery or cidermaker. Throughout 14 sessions spanning seven days, a panel of 265 judges from 37 countries methodically evaluated 8,375 entries from 1,761 breweries and cideries across 49 nations.
Congratulations to Olde Hickory Brewery for receiving another prestigious world wide award. Their beers begin their life as fresh water that flows from the granite slopes of the Blue Ridge and culminate in small batches, less than 800 gallons each. OHB beers are, and have always been, brewed using only select grains, robust hops and cultured yeast, with no additives or preservatives. These basic ingredients are added with time, passion and the undying thirst for knowledge to produce their variety of quality brews that you are sure to enjoy!
Visit the brewery to try this award winning beer! Hours are Wednesday and Thursday – 5pm till 9pm, Friday – 5pm till 10:30pm, Saturday – 1pm till 10pm, and Sunday – 1pm till 7pm. Olde Hickory Brewery is located at 2 3rd St. SW, Hickory.
