Newton, NC – The Green Room Community Theatre announces that tickets for Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters’ First 100 Years are now on sale. Based on the bestselling book by Sarah L. Delany and A. Elizabeth Delany, this heartfelt play shares the remarkable true story of two sisters whose lives spanned a full century of American history.
Having Our Say follows Bessie and Sadie Delany as they reflect on family, resilience, and the challenges and triumphs of a lifetime. Full of warmth, humor, and wisdom, this inspiring production celebrates sisterhood, perseverance, and the power of sharing your story.
The production is directed by award winning director, Dr. Corlis Hayes, with Jordan Spears as stage manager. This project was supported by Arts Culture Catawba through the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
Performances will take place March 27, 28, 29, April 3, 4, 10, 11, & 12. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased online at thegreenroomtheatre.org or by calling the box office at 828-464-6128 (open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Ticket prices are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors, $14 for students, and $8 for children 12 and under, not including N.C. sales tax.
