Hudson, NC – The Caldwell Arts Council announces open enrollment for its 9-week Summer Junior Appalachian Musicians Camp (JAM) where school-aged students can learn guitar, fiddle, or mandolin in the old-time tradition of playing and singing by ear. The program is appropriate for all playing levels, and students are not required to be enrolled in public school to participate.
Summer JAM will be held at The HUB Station Arts Center, located at 145 Cedar Valley Road in Hudson from June 17 or 18 through August 12. Full schedule details can be found at www.caldwellarts.com. Instructors are Bob Henson for guitar, Joshua Harris and Mary Ervin for fiddle, and Jerry McLean for mandolin and Performance.
Camp fees are $75 with discounts for siblings and multiple classes. If needed, instrument rentals are available for $20. An end of summer performance will be held on August 12, 2026. Students may also be invited to play live at the Happy Valley Jamboree in historic Happy Valley on Labor Day Weekend.
