Hickory – The Western Piedmont Woodcrafters’ Saturday, April 25 meeting will feature Watt Smith giving a demonstration on using artificial intelligence (AI) to create patterns. As usual, our meeting is at 9:30 A.M., at Klingspor’s Woodworking Shop, 856 21st St. Drive SE, Hickory. Guests are always welcome at our meetings.
Watt has been a member of the South East Pyrography Association for almost 2 years, and is currently the Vice President.
Completing a woodworking project is always faster and easier if you have plans or a pattern to follow. In fact, patterns are almost always used for pyrography, marquetry, and scroll saw work. If you can’t find the pattern you want, Watt is going to show you how to make your own pattern from a photograph or from scratch, using AI. Using those patterns, those of us that don’t consider ourselves to be artistic, can create artistic work.
The meeting will include member show-and-tell items and our usual raffle.
The club consists of about 35 Hickory-area woodworkers of all skill levels, from hobbyist to professionals.
