
NOW IN THEATERS:
Lee Cronin’s The Mummy – The Irish director of the Evil Dead Rise turns in the umpteenth take on the time worn tale of the film’s title. In this version, a TV reporter’s daughter is possessed by demons that are somehow tied to an ancient sarcophagus in the 134-minute film that probably should have been at least forty-five minutes shorter.

NEW TO DISC:
Criterion:
Point Blank (1967)-John Boorman’s brilliant adaptation of the Donald P. Westlake novel, The Hunter, and starring Lee Marvin, makes its 4K debut this week. New bonus materials include new interviews and featurettes along with archival bonus materials.
Disney:
Send Help (2026) The latest thriller from director Sam Raimi – creator of the original Evil Dead – makes its way to both 4K and Blu Ray formats this week with a few new bonus featurettes.
Arrow:
The Eye (2002) A formerly blind musician begins to see strange visions after a cornea transplant in this Hong Kong thriller, which got an American remake in 2008, now debuting on 4K. Bonus materials include interviews and featurettes.
Warner Brothers:
Sleepers (1996) The Barry Levinson directed tale of a group of men out for revenge against those who victimized them in a children’s detention center years before gets a 4K makeover with a few new featurettes.
Sony:
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026) The latest in the franchise of the film’s title, and starring Ralph Fiennes, gets a physical media release this week in both 4K and Blu Ray formats.
Kino:
The label is upgrading their previously issued Blu Ray of the actioner, Stone Cold (1991), to 4K this week with much of the same in the way of bonus materials.
Also getting a 4K upgrade is the low budget horror entry, The House of Seven Corpses (1973), which stars John Carradine. A new commentary is included.
The label is also issuing on Blu Ray for the first time the critically acclaimed comedy, House Calls (1978), starring Walter Matthau, and the thriller, House of Cards (1968), which stars George Peppard.
Lionsgate:
New releases from the label include a 4K upgrade of The Ninth Gate (1999), a Blu Ray release of the comedy, The Stoned Age (1994) and 4K and Blu Ray releases of the recent horror outing, The Strangers: Chapter 3 (2026).
Universal:
Among the offerings from the studio this week are a 4K release of the recent sci fi/adventure, Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die (2026) and Blu Ray releases of the catalog titles, Million Dollar Legs (1932), International House (1933), Mississippi (1935), Here Comes Cookie (1935) and The Private War of Major Benson (1955).
