Blowing Rock, NC – Blowing Rock’s Christmas in the Park & Lighting of the Town celebration is an annual holiday event that you are sure to love! Join us for games, caroling, and visits with Santa. The festival is always the Friday after Thanksgiving, and is the perfect time to kick off your holiday and Christmas celebrating! Bring the whole family, or enjoy the romance of the lights and fun, jovial atmosphere with your significant other.
As dusk arrives, everyone gathers in Memorial Park for the countdown to the ceremonial Lighting of the Town. The big tree in front of Town Hall and trees in the park all blink on together when the countdown, led by the Mayor, ends. It’s a beloved tradition!
On Saturday, November 27, the Christmas Parade will entertain on Main Street starting at 10am. Music, decorated vehicles and floats, and performances make this parade a favorite holiday event for many! Main Street will be closed to parking from midnight the night before, to just after the parade on November 27. No parking on Main Street for the parade will ensure better visibility and safety. Public parking is available on Maple Street, three places along Wallingford Street, and on Morris Street.
