The Town of Catawba Veterans Day Festival and Parade is Saturday, November 10. They will host the 14th annual Veterans Day Festival and Parade from 10am to 4pm. There will be local craft and specialty vendors, inflatables for kids of all ages, food, music and fun for everyone in the family. Bigger and better every year, this time with more vendors, new businesses in town will have their doors open, and we would love you to come join us! The Lenoir Veterans Day Memorial Service is Monday, November 12, 11am-12:30pm, on Lenoir’s downtown square. Free.
The Alexander Legion Post 170 will host a Veterans Day Program, Sunday, November 11, 10:30am-11:30am at East Taylorsville Baptist Church, 644 1st Avenue Dr SE, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
The Lincolnton Veterans Day Parade takes place Saturday, November 10, from 11am to 12pm in downtown Lincolnton, East Main Street, Flint to Court Square. There will be a Ceremony at the East Side of the Court House after the Parade.
The City of Claremont will be hosting its annual Veterans Day Service on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11am at the Claremont Fire Department. All are welcome to attend, and some seating will be provided.
The service will begin with a welcome by Mayor Shawn R. Brown and then other special components such as Oxford Elementary School students leading the Pledge of Allegiance, complimentary refreshments and a special guest speaker, Richard Tucker. Our speaker, Richard Tucker, is a Catawba County resident, Navy Veteran, Native American and rostered Lay Minister. The City will especially be honoring the names engraved on our Veteran’s Memorial Wall. After the service, mini flags will be given out to anyone that would like to take it the Memorial Wall at the City Park and place in the ground there. There will also be an opportunity to take pencil and paper, provided by the City, and stencil engraved names on the markers.
