Jada Thompson, Hkidz Director for Horizon Church says enthusiastically, “I am so excited anytime we are able to bring children together for laughter, fun and Jesus! Hkidz mission is to lead each child to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by showing them acceptance, love and self-worth.” She continues, “I am also a volunteer coach with In His Steps for the 7th-12th grade girls, and anytime In His Steps & HKidz partner in events it gives me the opportunity to also teach these girls how to love, live and serve in their community! In His Steps fits right into our mission and we are blessed to call them family here at Horizon! Horizon Kidz and I are so excited to enjoy this day with each of you, bring your families for a fun filled day!”
Donna Smith, founder of In His Steps adds, “We are thrilled to partner with Horizon Church and are looking forward to this fundraising event to help further their ministries.” Smith continues “Horizon Church is known for loving the Lord, loving people and serving their community and that is why we have partnered with them for the past eleven years. They love our ministry and our dance families so well.” Now in their twelfth year, In His Steps started as a way to reach out to girls and provide weekly dance classes and events that were free of charge. “In a time when many dance studios focus heavily on girls’ bodies, appearance and technical ability,” Smith says, “we want to cultivate a safe environment where everyone is appreciated no matter how they look, their economic status or how skilled they actually are at dance, which is why In His Steps exists.”
