Hickory – The cast has just been announced for the upcoming joint production of Beetlejuice Jr., co-produced by Hickory Community Theatre and Hickory Ballet & Performing Arts. This spooking musical comedy features a cast of 44 talented young actors performing 59 hilarious roles.
Beetlejuice Jr. is a frightfully funny musical based on the popular movie, “Beetlejuice.” It follows Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager obsessed with the afterlife, as she encounters a recently deceased couple and the mischievous demon Beetlejuice. When Lydia summons Beetlejuice to scare away unwanted guests, things quickly spiral into Netherworld-level chaos, with the demon showing his true colors. The musical adaptation, like the film, is a blend of comedy, spooky elements, and themes of life, death, and dealing with grief.
Sharing the title role of Beetlejuice are Autumn Sullivan and Kenna Hallman. The Lydias are Grace Devlin and Kait O’Brien. Playing the recently deceased Maitlands are Kora Hallman and Ada Mull as Barbara, playing opposite Keegan O’Brien and Tristan Abernathy as Adam. In the roles of Lydia’s parents, are Andrew Houson and Joseph Sintoni as Charles, and Hannah Pfaff and Mara Carmichael as Delia.
The ensemble, playing multiple characters, features Charlotte Caesar, Holly Eller, Presley Hubert, McKenzie Mahoney, Hayden Mower, Charlotte Rhoades, Kennedy Smith, Paislee Smith, Siyona Tamang, Mirabel Tegart, Stella Williams, Emma Bonnot, Holland Greene, Elvy Lioret, Scarlett McGuire, Madelyn Phihower, Anna Potter, Addison Trivette, Rachel Vannoy, Elsy Warren, Alani Delgado, Tyler McGuire, Akemi Meyer, Katie Hoffman, Zoe Wilson, Allie Leonard, Paige Schenck, Josephine Harris, Grayson Grindstaff, Koa Kolmes, Liam Kolmes, and Bash Huffman.
Performances of Beetlejuice Jr. are July 26 and 27, at 1:30 and 4:00pm. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for youth and students 18 and under. To purchase tickets call 828-328-2283 or visit https://tinyurl.com/mw289xzy to purchase online.
