Hickory – The City of Hickory will close its offices on Thursday, November 25, and Friday, November 26, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
City of Hickory offices will reopen on Monday, November 29, at 8:30 a.m.
Other City department closings and/or schedule changes:
Public Services: The Solid Waste Division and its services (garbage, recycling, yard waste, and leaf collection) will continue without interruption.
Hickory Public Library: Hickory Public Library, the Patrick Beaver Memorial main facility and the Ridgeview Branch, will close early on Wednesday, November 24, at 5 p.m. and remain closed on Thursday, November 25, and Friday, November 26. Library branches will reopen at regular hours on Saturday, November 27.
Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism: The Administrative Offices and Westmont Senior Center will be closed Thursday, November 25, and Friday, November 26.
The Ceramics Studio at Neill Clark Recreation Center will be closed on Wednesday, November 24.
Highland Recreation Center will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, and remain closed on Thursday, November 25. Highland will be open on Friday, November 26, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Brown Penn Recreation Center will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, and remain closed on Thursday, November 25. Brown Penn will be open on Friday, November 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Regular hours for recreation facilities will resume on Saturday, November 27. Parks are open 365 days a year.
