Hickory – After a year-long transformation, Hickory Museum of Art is making its grand return—and we’re doing it in style. To celebrate our reopening, HMA has partnered with renowned fashion designer Charles Harbison to “dress the museum” for a spectacular inaugural exhibition. Harbison’s exhibition, The Women, anchors HMA’s reopening theme, The Golden Thread—a celebration that honors our rich history while looking ahead to the future.

Join us on Saturday, September 5, from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM for the Grand Reopening Preview Party with Special Guest Charles Harbison in the Drendel Auditorium.

The evening kicks off the in the Drendel Auditorium, where Executive Director Clarissa Starnes and Charles Harbison will take the stage to share the creative journey behind this unique collaboration. Following the conversation, be among the first to walk the halls of the newly renovated museum. You’ll follow a curated path for an exclusive first look at the transformation. Explore luxury fashion in dialogue with works from HMA’s permanent collection, including new designs inspired by fan favorite artworks!

Please note there will be no food or drink at this event due to exhibition restrictions.
