Hickory – First Friday with a Local Author at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library On Friday, March 1, 2019 at 12:00 p.m., the First Friday with a Local Author program will explore journalism writing with Eric Millsaps, editor of the Hickory Daily Record and regional editor for the NC Community papers in the BH Media group.
Millsaps will share his experiences as a writer of columns and editorials plus more, his path through the journalism field, and answer questions. Eric Millsaps is a 1984 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and he has worked in the newspaper field throughout his career. He has been a reporter, editor and publisher. He has two children, both graduates of St. Stephens High School.
This First Friday with a Local Author program is free and open to the public. The March program will take place in the upstairs conference room. Registration is not required. You are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat during this program.
We’d also like to announce that the application for local authors interested in participating is now available. This program offers local authors the opportunity to share about themselves, their writings, and their path to getting their work published with a small group of other like-minded community members. Authors representing children, young adult, and adult literature are encouraged to apply. The application may be picked up at the Reference Desk of Patrick Beaver Memorial Library or requested by sending an email to [email protected].
