Hickory – Lenoir-Rhyne University, in partnership with Northwest Area Health and Education Center, will host the sixth annual health care symposium Wednesday, March 25, at Belk Centrum on its campus in Hickory, North Carolina. Registration starts at 8 a.m. with the symposium scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. The event is tailored to physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, psychologists, clinical social workers, mental health counselors, practice managers and others interested in the future of health care.
Within a rapidly changing health care environment, the symposium, themed “The Future of Healthcare: the Nuts and Bolts of Sustaining Wellness,” focuses on practical applications and provides attendees with an opportunity to determine how to best address health outcomes within their health care organization. Practitioners who are equipped to handle the personal and population-based needs of an ever growing, diverse community, are more efficient at identifying barriers to care that negatively affect patient outcomes.
The day-long event features two keynote speakers, as well as leaders and experts in the health care field offering afternoon breakout sessions. Various topics will be addressed and include substance abuse disorders, trauma, narrative health care and palliative medicine. The cost for the event is $100. Registration is open at northwestahec.org/60754.
