Hickory – Catawba Science Center is officially launching a BRAND NEW exhibit on July 10, 2024! Expanding Horizons: The Solar System & Beyond is a permanent exhibit in the Hall of Astronomy, located just outside the Millholland Planetarium. Explore our solar system and learn all about space travel, where we’ve been, where we’re going, and how new technology will help us get there. Prepare to expand your horizons with immersive exhibit pieces such as a Mars pod that allows visitors to experience what it would be like to live on the Red Planet.

Ever wonder what it would be like to fly to Mars? Find out in the new planetarium show Destination Mars sponsored by John and Eileen Leach. Destination Mars: The New Frontier gives you an up-close look at humanity’s most epic endeavor. Narrated by former NASA astronaut Mae Jemison you won’t want to miss this!
