Now in Theaters:

Project Hail Mary – The long awaited adaptation of Andy Weir’s bestselling sci-fi novel, running 2 hrs 36 minutes and boasting a $248 million price tag, makes it way to multiplexes this week.

New to Disc:

Kino:

Mimic (1997) Guillermo del Toro’s thriller about a team of scientists who discover a glitch in their miracle cure that takes on a sinister life of its own is now available in a 3-Disc Special Edition. It includes new 4K restorations of the Theatrical Cut and extended Director’s Cut.

There’s also a new 4K upgrade of K2 (1991), starring Michael Biehn. Franc Roddam’s action thriller about the attempt of a group of mountain climbers to scale the legendary peak also comes with a new commentary.

Dead Again (1991) Director-Star Kenneth Branagh’s murder mystery with a supernatural bend also comes to the 4K format with a new commentary.

Yet another 4K release from the label is the tale of an army deserter and his quest for a new life, Port of Shadows (1938). A new commentary is included as well.

Jack Benny Comedy Classics (1937-39) is a Blu Ray collection from the label containing the films, Man About Town and Artists and Models, and accompanied by new commentary tracks.

Another Blu Ray release from the label is the post-apocalyptic actioner, America 3000 (1986).

Criterion:

Testament (1983) Lynne Littman’s emotionally devastating portrait of the aftermath of a nuclear device on a small California community finally gets a long overdue Blu Ray release from the label. The release contains a mix of new and archival extras. Highly recommended!

Classe tous risques (1960) Claude Sautet’s portrait of a criminal at the end of his rope comes to 4K with some bonus materials which include interviews.

Lionsgate:

The recent thriller, The Housemaid (2025), starring Sydney Sweeney, makes its physical media debut in Blu Ray and 4K formats.

Also, getting 4K upgrades from the label are the cult films, The Substitute (1996) and Leprechaun (1993). New and archival extras are included on both of these releases.

Warner Archive:

Two more Blu Ray repackagings of previously released titles are available this week. They are the Humphrey Bogart: 4 Film Collection (1940-50) and the Tennessee Williams: 4 Film Collection (1951-62). Among the films included are Streetcar Named Desire and They Drive by Night.

Arrow:

The long-lost dark comedy, The Birthday (2004), starring Corey Feldman as man whose attempts to propose to his girlfriend go wrong at a party, comes to the 4K format with a bountiful selection of extras.

Sony:

The critically acclaimed series, For All Mankind: Season Two (2021), finally gets a physical media release in Blu Ray format.

Also being issued by the label is the recent remake, Anaconda (2025).

Disney:

Bradley Cooper’s third film as a director, Is This Thing On? (2025), about a middle aged man who decides to try standup comedy, makes it disc debut this week in multiple formats.
