NEW TO DISC:
Alliance Entertainment:
Project Hail Mary (2026) The box office blockbuster from the spring of this year gets a 4K and Blu Ray release this week from the label. A few new bonus features are included.
Warner Brothers:
Tim Burton’s affectionate adaptation of the 1962 Topps Trading Card series, Mars Attacks (1996), gets a 4K release this week from the label. In addition to the superb transfer, there’s a new retrospective featurette celebrating the film’s 30th (!) anniversary.
Warner Archive:
The label is issuing the swashbuckler, Captain Horatio Hornblower (1951) on Blu Ray format with a few new bonus materials.
Disney:
Four years (!) after its successful theatrical run, the label has finally opted to give Zach Cregger’s debut feature, Barbarian (2022), a 4K physical media release. Don’t expect a whole lot in the way of extras, but at least it’s now available for disc enthusiasts who have requested it for nearly half a decade.
Decal Releasing:
The label has on tap for Blu Ray and 4K release the recent concert film, EPIC: Elvis Presley in Concert (2026), for those who missed the wonderful film last winter in theaters. Also being issued by the label in 4K format is the horror entry, Hokum (2026).
Arrow Video:
The horror sequel, Ju-on: The Grudge 2 (2002), is being given the 4K treatment in a deluxe new edition from the label this week. Bonus materials include commentary and interviews.
MVD Releasing:
The label is issuing a new 4K UHD upgrade of Martin Scorsese’s lone attempt at a musical, New York, New York (1977), with two cuts of the film and a combo of new and archival bonus materials.
Also being issued in 4K by the label this week is the Jean Claude Van Damme vehicle, Death Warrant (1990). The release includes some new actor interviews.
Lionsgate:
The delightful coming of age film, set in the 1980s, Sing Street (2015), is being issued in the 4K format for the first time by the label. In addition to the deluxe packaging, there are new extras as well.
Another horror sequel, The Descent, Part II (2009) is also being issued on 4K by the label as part of their Lionsgate Limited series of titles.
Kino:
The only 3-D film to feature Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin, Money from Home (1953), has been issued in a new 3-D restoration, courtesy of the label. There is also a nice selection of bonus materials in the set.
Also being issued in Blu Ray format by the label this week are Manon 70 (1968) and Le Choc (1982), two lesser-known films starring Catherine Deneuve. Both include new commentary tracks.
Universal:
One of the year’s best theatrical releases in my estimation, the crime thriller, Tuner (2026), starring Dustin Hoffman, comes to the Blu Ray format courtesy of the label.
The label is also issuing several of its catalog titles in the Blu Ray format. Titles include Madame X (1966), Portrait in Black (1960), First Love (1939), I’ll Be Yours (1947) and Blindfold (1966).
They are also issuing on Blu Ray the TV reboot, Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series (2003-2012).
