Nobody 2 – Bob Odenkirk returns as the workaholic assassin from the first film, this time tangling with a dangerous crime boss. Christopher Lloyd also returns.

NEW TO DISC:

Kino:

Xanadu (1980) The cult musical starring Olivia Newton-John-as an artist inspiring muse-and Gene Kelly, comes to 4K in a superb new set that features a gorgeous new picture transfer and some really enticing extras such as four commentaries, sizzle reel and a documentary.

Happy Gilmore (1996) The Adam Sandler comedy about a hockey player turned golfer comes to the 4K format as well. A commentary and deleted scenes are included.

Coneheads (1993) The feature film version of the classic 70s SNL skit, and starring Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtin, is yet another 4K upgrade from the label. Bonus materials include a new commentary.

Repossessed (1990) The Exorcist parody starring Leslie Nielsen and Linda Blair makes its Blu Ray debut this week and contains a new commentary track.

Gung Ho (1986) Ron Howard’s followup to Cocoon, starring Michael Keaton as a fast talker who persuades a Japanese car company to take over an abandoned factory, makes its Blu Ray debut as well. Two interviews and a commentary are included.

Sony:

Sense and Sensibility (1995) The multiple Oscar nominated adaptation of the classic Jane Austen novel gets a 4K makeover from the label. No new extras but archival features have been retained.

Universal:

Harvey (1950) Jimmy Stewart stars as a man whose best friend is an invisible rabbit in this classic comedy making the 4K leap this week.

Criterion:

Two new releases from the label this week include the classic Italian film about the struggles of a boy who shines shoes in order to buy a horse, Shoeshine (1946) and two satires from the celebrated Taiwan filmmaker, Edward Yang,  A Confucian Confusion/Mahjong (1994-1996). The former is a 4K release while the latter is Blu Ray only.

Arrow:

Perpetrator (2023) An 18 year old begins to experience strange changes in this horror thriller getting a Blu Ray release along with music videos and commentary.

Radiance Films:

Through and Through (1973) A Krakow couple turns to a life of crime in the 1930s in this acclaimed film getting a first ever Blu Ray release.

Scream/Shout Factory:

The label issuing another 4K helping of 70s cult cinema with Blaxploitation Classics Volume 2 (1970-1975). The titles in the box set include Cotton Comes to Harlem / Slaughter / Slaughter’s Big Rip-Off /Foxy Brown /Friday Foster and Bucktown.
