One Battle After Another – Legendary filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson teams with Leonardo DiCaprio for the first time in this high-octane thriller revolving around the efforts to save a kidnapped girl. A full review is forthcoming.

Arrow Video:
Creepshow 2 (1987) The follow up to the 1982 horror anthology, also based on stories by Stephen King, makes its 4K debut in a new edition that includes a nice assortment of bonus material. This includes commentaries, interviews and behind the scenes footage.

The Good, The Bad and The Weird (2008) is a 1930s set Korean western getting a 4K upgrade in this new set. Bonus materials include archival commentaries and an image gallery and interviews.
Warner Bros/Warner Archive:
Nightmare on Elm Street Collection (1984-1994) All seven entries in the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise get a 4K face lift this week as well in a splendid new set from the WB label. Bonus materials found in the previous sets has been retained.
The Warner Archive Blu-Ray releases this week include the animated Series, Touche Turtle and Dum Dum (1962-63), the crime drama, Beast of the City (1932), starring Walter Houston as an honest cop tangling with prohibition-era mob bosses, the 1955 crime noir, I Died a Thousand Times, which stars Jack Palance as a bank robber coming to the aid of a disabled girl, the blaxploitation film entry, Black Sampson (1974) and the 1953 technicolor musical, The Beggar’s Opera. Various extras are included on the releases.
Criterion:
The Wes Anderson Archive (1996-2021) is a handsomely packaged 4K box set compendium containing all the director’s works from the first 25 years of his career. Extras are too numerous to mention here but they are bountiful to be sure.
Universal:
American Pie (1999) The label is issuing the fondly remembered comedy in both R rated and unrated versions on the 4K format this week as well.
Scream/Shout Factory:
The Jessica Chastain starring horror entry, Mama (2013), comes to 4K UHD format this week from the label as well. New bonus materials have been included.
Kino:
Dan Curtis Late Night Mysteries (1974) is a Blu-Ray collection of horror films that ran on ABC from the legendary producer of Dark Shadows and The Night Stalker. Films included are Shadow of Fear, The Invasion of Carol Enders, Nightmare at 43 Hillcrest and Come Die with Me.
The disaster film staples, Airport (1970), Airport 75 (1974), Airport 77 (1977), and The Concorde: Airport 79 (1979) have all been issued separately in both 4K and Blu-Ray format. A new set is forthcoming that contains all the films in one set. New commentaries are included.
Dogtooth (2009) Yorgos Lanthimos’s dark comedy that put him on the map gets a 4K UHD makeover in a new set that includes deleted scenes and commentary.
The .44 Specialist (1976) is an Italian cop thriller starring John Saxon and now getting its first ever Blu-Ray release from the label. A bonus commentary track is also included.
MVD Visual:
The Best Christmas Movies Ever (2024) is a documentary from Mark Altman covering some of the stories behind many beloved holiday movie classics. Extras include bonus footage.
