Hickory – Redhawk Publications is thrilled to announce an exciting partnership with the City of Hickory’s Patrick Beaver Library for the city’s first-ever Literary Festival, happening this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the SALT Block in Downtown Hickory!
In celebration of National Poetry Month, Redhawk Publications will host a series of vibrant poetry-focused events throughout the afternoon. Whether you’re a seasoned poet or a curious beginner, there’s something for everyone:
Open Mic Poetry Hour | 1–2 p.m. – Head to the Moretz Board Room (2nd Floor, SALT Block Building) and step up to the mic! Bring your own poem or read a favorite—everyone’s welcome.
Poetry Prompt Hour | 2–3 p.m. – Get inspired by a simple writing prompt or a captivating painting, then let your creativity flow. This on-the-spot poetry session invites attendees of all ages to discover the poet within.
Live Author Interviews | 3–4 p.m. – Join Redhawk Publications and host Tony Robles, radio talkshow host, podcaster, and poet, as he interviews Redhawk poets and authors about their latest works and the power of poetry today.
