On September 7th, 2024, from 10 AM till 2 PM Samurai Institute will hold their OPEN HOUSE CELEBRATION! Celebrating 50 years of continuous instruction in martial arts in Hickory and the surrounding counties. Food, Kids Games, anti-bully kids Classes, Self-protection class, “Day Of” Specials, Door Prizes, free pre-evaluations, mini self-defense classes, and more!
Samurai Institute is owned and operated by Pete Nappier, who is a native of Hickory and a veteran of the US Army. He has studied martial arts for over 55 years. Pete was one of the first aikido instructors to begin teaching children aikido principles and developed a working curriculum to help children in all aspects of their lives in the early 80’s. He has consistently studied and progressed to the rank of 9th dan Black Belt, one of the highest ranks in NC. Mr. Nappier also worked in club/ event security for over 22 years, bringing his real-world knowledge to his students. He is passionate about teaching and loves watching his students grow.
