The Seahawks won their second Super Bowl title in 12 years by dominating the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Much has changed in the time between the two titles. Pete Carroll, the legendary Seahawks coach, is no longer with the team, nor are any of the players who comprised that first Super Bowl-winning roster.
This marks the first time in league history a franchise’s General Manager, John Schneider in this case, produced two Super Bowl wins with a different head coach and completely different rosters.
What stands out to me is that Schneider was able to rebuild the franchise into a Super Bowl winner without tanking like many teams need to in order to acquire top-level talent in the draft. Since Seattle won the 2013 Super Bowl, it’s had only one losing season, a 7-10 record in 2020.

Daytona 500 Has Arrived
The 2026 NASCAR season gets underway on Sunday as the prestigious Daytona 500 gets it all started at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida.
Two-time defending Daytona 500 champion William Byron has to be the favorite. NASCAR champion Kyle Larson is another top driver worth watching in an event that always generates exciting finishes.
Hornets Are Winning Games
The Charlotte Hornets recorded their ninth consecutive victory over the weekend when they upended the Atlanta Hawks. The streak ties the second-longest winning streak in franchise history. It is the longest since April of 1999.
Perhaps the rebuild is complete. It usually takes a few months for the Hornets to win nine games. There could be playoff basketball in Charlotte again.
