Newton, NC – The Corner Table is excited to invite performers of all ages and talents to audition for Stand Up to Hunger, a family-friendly variety show benefiting the Backpack Program, which helps provide meals for children facing food insecurity in our community.
The show will take place on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Drendel Auditorium in Hickory, and will feature a lively lineup of local talent coming together for an evening of entertainment, creativity, and community impact.
We’re calling on singers, dancers, comedians, magicians, musicians, performers, and entertainers of all kinds to take the stage and share their talents. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or stepping into the spotlight for the first time, Stand Up to Hunger is your chance to shine while helping make a difference in the lives of local children.
Audition Information
Auditions will be held at Friendship Church in Newton on the following dates:
Tuesday, February 16th from 6-8PM
Thursday, February 26th from 6-8PM
If these dates don’t work for you, participants are encouraged to note their availability when registering.
Age Categories
Category 1: 12 years and younger
Category 2: 13–18 years
Category 3: 19 years and older
Category 4: Groups & Duets (no age category)
Prizes & Voting
Each category winner will receive a $250 cash prize, selected by a panel of judges. One Grand Prize Winner, chosen by the audience, will also receive a $250 cash prize, making every performance a chance to win big and make an impact.
Tickets for the event will go on sale March 3, 2026, and community members and businesses are invited to support the show through sponsorship opportunities that help ensure the continued success of The Corner Table’s Backpack Program.
