Captain America: Brave New World – The 35th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and features a plot also involving The Red Hulk as well as the title character.

NEW TO STREAMING:
Sly Lives – A new documentary, directed by Questlove, chronicles the highs and lows in the musical career of Sly Stone, the mastermind behind Sly and the Family Stone. (Hulu)
NEW TO DISC:
Universal:
Nosferatu (2024) Robert Eggers’ reimagining of F.W. Murnau’s 1924 silent horror film-one of the first to feature a vampire-comes to Blu-Ray and 4K. The new disc release includes a five minute longer director’s cut as well.
Kino:
Frances (1982) Jessica Lange scored an Oscar nod for her portrayal of doomed actress, Frances Farmer, in this film, now coming to Blu-Ray. Among the bonus material is a new commentary.
One of the perennial favorites starring John Candy from director, John Hughes, Uncle Buck (1989), comes to 4K UHD this week. Extras include two commentaries and an interview.
Another fan fave starring John Candy, Carl Reiner’s Summer Rental (1985), makes its Blu-Ray debut. Bonus material includes a new commentary and featurette.
Sony:
Two films long desired in the 4K UHD format from director David Fincher, The Panic Room (2002) and The Social Network (2010), finally make the ultra-high definition leap in separate releases from the label. Previously issued bonus materials are included.
Warner Brothers:
Two more 4K UHD upgrades from the label this week include, Constantine (2005), starring Keanu Reeves and the horror sequel, Evil Dead Rise (2023). Nothing new in terms of extras but previously issued materials have been ported over.
Criterion:
Gus Van Sant’s highly acclaimed adaptation of James Fogle’s autobiographical novel, recounting his addiction and starring Matt Dillon, Drugstore Cowboy (1989), has made the 4K leap and includes such bonus materials as a commentary, making of doc and new interviews.
Also being issued by the label is the romantic comedy starring Peter Riegert and Amy Irving, Crossing Delancey (1988). Extras include a new piece on the making of the film featuring the lead actors and a director interview.
MGM:
Quite a few titles that were originally issued in Blu-Ray on the now defunct Twilight Time label – and now out of print-have been reissued. These include The End (1978), Bandits (2001), Uptown Girls (2003), Inserts (1976), Twilight Time (1982), The Naked Maja (1958) and Outpost in Malaya (1952). The majority of these do not include bonus materials.
