Hickory – Well Behaved Women Theatre Company is reprising their 2025 hit comedy The Lost Virginity Tour as a benefit for Hickory Community Theatre. Performances will be Thursday through Saturday, May 28-30, at 7:30pm in the Fireman’s Kitchen, with tickets on sale now on HCT’s website. Don’t miss this chance to see the play Broadway World called “funny, profound, provocative and adventurous”.

The Lost Virginity Tour features popular local actresses Dorothy Collier Best, Connie Bools, Chrissy Colavecchio and Shawna Wilson. Pam Livingstone, Artistic Director Emerita of Hickory Community Theatre, directs.

Written by Cricket Daniel, the play follows them as they crisscross the country sharing stories at the locations of their ‘first time’. Broadway World found it “funny, profound, provocative and adventurous”.

Surprise, Arizona, is the location of Happy Trails Senior Resort, home to four dear friends who set out on a cross-country road trip revisiting the sites where they lost their virginity. The trip is at turns hilarious, moving, and heartbreaking as the women share stories from their youth. Close and supportive before, their journey yields even deeper bonds by its end.

Dorothy Collier Best plays Elaine, a widow who is both wise and a natural peacemaker when needed. Collier Best began her career at the age of nine in television and theatre in Los Angeles. Since 2011 Dorothy has performed in numerous productions in the Hickory area.

Connie Bools plays Rita, a sharp, practical woman whose sense of humor is still intact after nearly 40 years of marriage. Bools has been appearing on local stages for over 25 years

Chrissy Colavecchio plays Viola, smart-mouthed, witty in a sometimes R-rated fashion, who organizes the tour with the same lightening speed she drives her golf cart around the neighborhood. Colavecchio has performed on stage and in commercial work for over 35 years.

Often the target of Viola’s teasing, Kitty is played by Shawna Wilson, Well Behaved Women’s Artistic Director and a long-time actor. The only club member to have never married, Kitty’s sweet story of her first time kicks off the tour with a tale of ‘sex on the beach’ on Hatteras Island, NC.

*Trigger Warning: The play contains a brief account of sexual violence in one character’s story. While the play’s overall tone is comedic and uplifting, WBW and HCT recognize the importance of informing the audience about sensitive content in advance.

Well Behaved Women Theatre Company is producing the show in association with The Hickory Community Theatre. Tickets are $22 each, reserved seating, and available now at hickorytheatre.org, or call 828.328.2283. The theatre is located at 30 3rd Street NW, Hickory, 28601.
