Hickory – Women’s Resource Center (WRC) will begin hosting a discussion group for women sixty years and above. The discussion group, Women Sharing Wisdom will provide older women with a safe place to share, explore possibilities, and find creative solutions to the difficulties of aging.

Women Sharing Wisdom will be facilitated by Susan Brooks, LCMHC, and will meet at Women’s Resource Center on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month from 2:00-3:15 beginning on Thursday, October 5.

“Women face a variety of challenges as they move into their older decades, states Michelle Morgan, Executive Director of Women’s Resource Center, “and many feel isolated and lack a place to have meaningful discussions and receive support for the issues they face. I was thrilled when Susan Brooks reached out to me about the prospect of offering Women Sharing Wisdom at WRC!”

Facilitator, Susan Brooks says, “I am over the moon to be able to facilitate this discussion group at Women’s Resource Center. I think it’s the perfect fit!” Brooks describes the group as “a supportive, facilitated group for older women to gather to discuss the challenges of aging and share the wisdom you have gained from your own life experiences—or wisdom you aspire to gain, which is all of us.”

Women’s Resource Center’s mission is to support women’s self-sufficiency by providing individualized services and connections to local resources. WRC is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and envisions a community where ALL women thrive.
