Vale, NC —  Celebrate the rich heritage of American music every Thursday in June at 6:00pm at Hart Square Village. The Heritage Music Series will provide live concerts by original musicians and songwriters who are inspired by traditions of the past.   Experience folk, progressive soul, blues, and bluegrass performed by national and international touring artists who have garnered accolades and acclaim in the music industry.

Buffalo Nichols

The Heritage Music Series begins on June 6th with folk duo Viv and Riley, followed by progressive soul artist E’Lon JD on June 13th, and blues artist Buffalo Nichols on June 20th.  The series will be closed out with a bluegrass concert by Missy Raines and Allegheny on June 27th. Raines has garnered some of the biggest accolades in the music industry, including 14 International Bluegrass Music Association honors, with ten being awarded for “Bass Player of the Year.”

Bring your own chair and join us on the lawn of the Sigmon Family Education Center for a one-of-a-kind concert experience, where each artist will perform on a stage framed by cabins from the 1800’s.  Each concert is $15, or a supporter pass is available for all four shows at $60.  In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be held inside our performance venue.

Executive Director, Rebecca Hart, says “As a musician myself, it is important to me to preserve and share our region’s musical heritage. If you are a supporter of original music, I hope you will join us at Hart Square for the Heritage Music Series.”
