NOW IN THEATERS:
How to Train Your Dragon – Another week and another live action adaptation of a previously animated film property. The enduringly popular, animated series of films gets the live action treatment courtesy of the director of the original source material from whence it came. And since brevity is a thing of the cinematic past, another thirty minutes has been added for one’s pleasure or pain, depending on the audience.

Looney Tunes Collector’s Vault: Volume 1 (1939-1962) is a new two disc set that includes 50 new-to-disc or newly remastered Looney Tunes shorts, presented uncensored and in their original aspect ratios.
Also new from the label is the Gary Cooper 4 Film Collection (1941-1959), which collects four films previously issued individually. They are Sergeant York (1941), Friendly Persuasion (1956), Love in the Afternoon (1957) and The Hanging Tree (1959).
Kino:
Billy Wilder’s Sabrina (1954), starring Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn and William Holden, comes to the 4K UHD, format courtesy of the label, from a new scan of the original negative. Extras include multiple commentaries, six featurettes, documentary and the trailer.
I, Madman (1989), the tale of a bookstore clerk (Jenny Wright), who summons up the villain from one of her favorite novels, gets a Blu-Ray release from the label. Extras include behind the scenes footage, commentary and the film’s trailer.
A new 4K UHD upgrade of DeepStar Six (1989) is also being issued this week from Kino. Extras include multiple commentaries, interviews and featurettes.
Also issued from the label this week are Rock, Pretty Baby! (1956), starring Sal Mineo and John Saxon, and Promise Her Anything (1966), starring Warren Beatty and Leslie Caron. Both feature a new commentary track. The 1932 western, Law and Order, is also being given a Blu-Ray release.
Criterion:
The label is issuing the documentary Thelonious Monk Straight No Chaser (1988) on Blu-Ray with new extras, including interviews and a making of program.
Also being issued on Blu-Ray by the label this week is the 1939 film, Midnight, starring Claudette Colbert and Don Ameche. A new commentary is included.
Lionsgate:
All of Me (1984) The fourth collaboration between Steve Martin and Carl Reiner makes its Blu-Ray debut as part of the Lionsgate Limited series of titles.
Universal:
Murder She Wrote: The Complete Series (1984-2003) All 13,588 minutes of the sleuthing adventures of Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) have been issued on Blu-Ray in a massive 32-disc box set. The set also includes the later TV movies made after the series ended.
The label is also releasing the Jurassic Park Trilogy (1993-2001) and the Jurassic World Trilogy (2015-2022) in a collectable Steelbook. The new discs in these SteelBook collections all have Dolby Atmos audio and Dolby Vision HDR.
Universal is also releasing a 4K UHD reissue of Jaws (1975) in steelbook format. It includes all of the previous bonus material plus a new documentary entitled Jaws @ 50.
