Valdese, NC – The 38th Annual Open Art Competition will be receiving artwork on Wednesday, July 23 from 12–6pm and on Thursday, July 24 from 10am–2pm in Gallery I.
Artists of all levels and ages 18 years or older are welcome to enter. Works must be original and never shown before in the Open Art Competition. 2 entries per artist. Entries may be 2 2D works or 2 3D works. Or 1 2D and 1 3D. Fees for entry are RSAF Members: $10 per artist. Non-members: $15. Cash or Checks (Checks payable to RSAF or Rock School Arts Foundation) due on the day you bring your artwork.
Awards are 1ST $500 / 2ND $200 / 3RD $100 / PEOPLE’S CHOICE $50.
Exhibition of all entries into the competition will be Friday, August 1 through Friday, August 29. With Opening Day to coincide with the Waldensian Festival on Saturday, August 9.
The judge this year is Mary Anne Redding, senior curator at the Turchin Center for Visual Arts at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.
