Newton, NC – The Green Room Community Theatre is excited to announce that tickets for Shrek the Musical will go on sale to the general public on Friday, Oct. 31. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film, this family-favorite musical brings everyone’s favorite ogre to life in a hilarious and heartwarming adventure.
With music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, Shrek follows the lovable green ogre on his quest to rescue Princess Fiona, with help from his loyal sidekick Donkey. Along the way, they encounter a cast of quirky fairy-tale creatures and discover that true beauty lies within.
Performances will take place November 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased online at thegreenroomtheatre.org or by calling the box office at 828-464-6128 (open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Ticket prices are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors, $14 for students, and $8 for children 12 and under, not including N.C. sales tax.
