NOW IN THEATERS:
The Devil Wears Prada 2 – A sequel has arrived to the Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway starring film adaptation of the Lauren Weisberger bestseller from 2006. Tellingly, a film that was originally released as counter-programming to some of the blockbusters of its day and became a surprise success, now twenty years after the fact, has a sequel that is being released as a main event programmer. No intellectual property is immune from being plundered for further financial gain is the lesson to be gleaned one imagines. Fans of the original film will at least be pleased to spend more time with the characters from the first film, most of whom are returning along with the original film’s director.

NEW TO STREAMING:
The AI Doc or How I Became an Apocaloptomist (***) Award winning directors Daniel Roher and Steve Tyrell attempt to get to the bottom line regarding the subject of Artificial Intelligence in this entertaining documentary. Tightly edited to conform to today’s short attention span, the film, nonetheless, proves to be informative and entertaining and not completely dire. Recommended.
