Newton, NC – The June meeting of the NAACP Catawba County Branch will be on Sunday, June 14th, 2026, at 4:00pm. The meeting will be held at Mt. Olin AME Zion Church located at 2583 Smyre Farm Rd, Newton, NC 28658.

We are honored to welcome Cynthia Johnson Scott as our special guest speaker — daughter of Elizabeth Bernice Barker Johnson, one of the courageous women soldiers recognized in Tyler Perry’s powerful film The Six Triple Eight.

Come hear an inspiring story of legacy, service, perseverance, and history as we celebrate the incredible contributions of these trailblazing women who helped change history during World War II.

NAACP Members and their guests, as well as the public, are welcome. You can sign up for NAACP membership at the meeting.

The NAACP is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization. The Catawba County Branch meets on the second Sunday of each month.
