Hickory – On Oct. 3, NC State Representative candidate Park Inglefield will welcome NC State Supreme Court Justice Anita Earls to a community conversation in Hickory. Hosted by Rev. Dave Roberts and Morning Star First Baptist Church, 126 4th Ave. SW, Hickory, all are welcome to come and meet Inglefield and Earls and learn more about the important role of the state’s highest court plays in the daily lives of North Carolina residents.
“I’m delighted that Justice Earls is making the time to come to Hickory,” said Inglefield. “Our state court delivers key decisions affecting our access to the ballot box, workers’ rights, and more. Importantly, her distinguished career has been marked by a strong commitment to all North Carolinians, especially on issues related to voting rights, public education spending, and environmental regulations.”
Earls was elected to the NC State Supreme Court in 2018. Her previous career highlights include serving as Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Then, she returned to North Carolina to work alongside Julius Chambers at the UNC Center for Civil Rights and, in 2007, she founded the southern Coalition for Social Justice, a nonprofit legal advocacy organization.
“This is such a great opportunity to learn more about two of the three branches of NC state government,” Inglefield continued, “the judiciary and the general assembly as well as to meet such a distinguished jurist. Please bring your questions to what I know will be an informative and lively discussion.”
Inglefield, a fourth-generation North Carolinian, is running to represent the 96th district in the State House of Representatives. She is the North Carolina State Director for Young People’s Alliance, a bipartisan nonprofit organization that equips the next generation of leaders with the tools to advocate for positive change. Inglefield’s focus in this work is on critical AI regulation policy.
